Dr. David Alessi has developed a less-invasive lower facelift technique for his Beverly Hills patients who only need focused skin tightening. This procedure, called U-Lift™, provides contouring of the lower face and neck without the downtime of a traditional facelift, and improves the most visible signs of aging, with dramatic but natural-looking results.

Candidates for a U-Lift in Beverly Hills
Very simply, a U-Lift can help men and women who want to tighten and restore loose facial skin of the jaw line and neck for a more youthful look. You may want to consider this procedure if you notice:

  • Sagging skin, deep folds and wrinkles under your chin
  • Loose, droopy skin on your jaw line (jowels) and neck

U-Lift patients are often in their thirties to fifties. If you’re not sure whether a U-Lift will achieve the degree of cosmetic improvement you’d like, you can count on Dr. Alessi to provide a detailed consultation and professional recommendation of the procedure that will best address your areas of concern and achieve the most optimal results possible.

Surgery Overview
The U-Lift utilizes a well-camouflaged incision around the ears to lift and re-contour loose tissue  seen at the level of the chin, jaw and neck line. This procedure does more than simply retighten and redrape the skin.  Dr. Alessi achieves the most natural-looking results by focusing on both the surface skin and deeper underlying structures of the face. Below the skin is superficial muscle and excess underskin (known as SMAS), a layer of tissue that in most cases, also requires surgical enhancement to create a more youthful foundation and the most natural-looking appearance after surgery.  Dr. Alessi uses this excess tissue to contour cheek folds, creating results very similar to a full facelift but with a fraction of the downtime and discomfort.

To complete a U-Lift, Dr. Alessi closes the incisions made around the ear. The scars fade to near-invisible over time. During the recovery period, you’ll be asked to keep your head elevated to minimize swelling.  We’ll also review with you any and all instructions to follow during your recovery period to help insure you keep incision sites clean, prevent infection and minimize scarring. You’ll return to the Alessi Institute about a week after surgery for a post-surgical follow-up.

As your swelling subsides, you’ll soon notice a tighter and more youthful look. Most of our U-Lift patients are ready to return to work and other activities in about one week.

Related Procedures
Here are just a few other procedures you may want to consider for facial enhancement that are often requested to compliment the overall age-reversing results of U-lift.

  • Facelift: While the U-Lift is a good choice for many people, if you have more significant sagging and wrinkling of the skin on your lower face, a traditional facelift may be a better bet.
  • Eyelid Surgery: If you’re starting to see sagging skin under your chin, you may be seeing loose skin and bags around your eyes as well. Eyelid surgery can work wonders to put a little extra spark in your appearance.
  • Laser Skin Rejuvenation: Dr. Alessi often encourages U-Lift patients to combine the surgery with a Fraxel® laser treatment to soften the appearance of wrinkles and achieve a smoother complexion
  • Dermal Fillers: These injectables are ideal for filling in lines around the mouth, and can be a great way to accent the tighter, more defined jaw line you achieve after a U-Lift.
